About

Built by someone who ran the results table.

Podium Results is a secure web-based results platform for arts competitions. It replaces the paper and spreadsheet process most competitions still use for entering points and comments, calculating placings and publishing results.

Why it exists

Podium Results was built by Caroline. She worked as a supervisor at brass band competitions and dealt with the manual paper process herself, checking and re-checking placings by hand.

She has also been a supporter and a participant at competitions, so she knows what it is like to wait on results that are slow or hard to find. She built Podium Results to fix both ends of that.

Where it is now

The platform covers the whole results workflow: bulk upload of events and entrants, secure points entry by adjudicators, adjudicator comments recorded in the system, automatic calculation of placings and aggregates, supervisor review, and publishing under organiser control.

Brass band competitions are where it was built and proven first. It is built for arts competitions more broadly, including music and dance, and it is open to more organisers now.

How we work

Two things we hold to.

Nothing published without a person

Calculation is automatic. Release is not. Results are reviewed by a supervisor and published when the organiser decides.

Accuracy is the point

Placings, aggregates, ties, penalty points and adjudicator recognitions are calculated from the points entered, so the published result matches what was awarded.

Who it is for

Organisers first, everyone second.

Organisers run the competition in Podium Results. Everyone else reads the results, so the public side needs no account and no app.

Competition organisers

Set the competition up, control access and control publishing.

Supervisors

Review the calculated results, add any penalty points, and save them for publishing.

Adjudicators

Enter points and record their comments, without carrying the calculations.
